Local Authorities do not have a statutory duty to collect the Multiplication Table Check (MTC) data, but the DfE have made a results file available for schools to download.
Keypas provides a facility for importing MTC scores where LAs have chosen to collect these files from schools. Once imported, Nova provides two new MTC reports for analysing and sharing the results.
Multiplication Tables Check data
Used for: Importing data submitted by schools
Files available from: Direct from schools (who will download it from Get Information About Pupils)
When: Mid to late June each year
Import route: Import > Multiplication Tables Check
Contains: MTC results for all Year 4 pupils.
Keypas accepts the results files in CTF (*.xml) format. The file name format should look like the examples below.
- `9992000_CTF_999LLLL_001.xml`
- `9992000_KS2_9992000_001.xml`
- `9992000_CTF_999LLLL_001 (1).xml` (files with extraneous text after the expected format is permitted, but ignored)
Retain existing data
It is expected that as the data is final, MTC files will contain data for all pupils who took the test at the school. However, there may be exceptional cases where you may need to use the 'retain existing data' functionality (though it should be carefully considered.) See this article for more information.
