As a Local Authority, you can play a key role in supporting schools by helping to manage their Perspective Lite access. Rather than relying solely on headteachers to handle account setup and maintenance, you can ease their workload by requesting school-level administrators through Nexus.
With frequent headteacher changes across schools, this approach helps prevent access issues and delays, ensuring that someone in the school can make sure the correct staff have access to the LA data.
Liaising directly with school admins can help keep Perspective Lite running smoothly and ensure the right staff are always connected. This guide explains how to submit admin requests, which our Support Team will process promptly.
Admins in Perspective Lite Explained
Inside Perspective Lite, the Admin permission grants a user the ability to manage staff accounts in the school. The permission can be Off or Admin. Please note that if the school has Perspective Premium, the permission also gives them access to some other administrative areas relating to the modules in that system.
A Perspective Lite Admin can only toggle other staff members' permissions; they cannot edit their own permissions to access LA data.

Requesting an Administrator
To request an admin for one of your schools, you must first have the Can Access Perspective Services & Accounts Page permission enabled. If you don't have that access, speak to your Nexus LA administrators.
If you have that permission, navigate to Admin > Perspective Accounts
Please note, schools with Perspective Premium are hidden from this page. This is subject to change, but for now, please contact perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk if you require an admin for one of these schools, or if you have any questions.
Use the filters here to locate the school you wish to request an admin for.
Then select the icon on the right hand, under the Perspective Admin Accounts column. The current number of admins in that school will be represented by the number and when selected, the list of admins will appear, alongside their last login.
If the admin you need already has an account, please navigate to the School's dashboard, select the Perspective tab and send them a login reminder.
If the admin does not have an account already, click Request New Account.
A pop-up will then appear, allowing you to input the administrator's details.
Once you've added the information, click Send Request.
This will do two things:
- Notify our support team that the request has been submitted
- Send an email address to the registered headteacher, requesting confirmation
The email the headteacher's receive lets them know the LA have requested an admin, who they are and what access they will have.
The reason we trigger an email to the headteacher is so they can validate the request. Schools are the account owners for Perspective Lite, so the head needs to be aware there is a request to add a user, so it isn't actioned without their permission.
The email asks the headteacher to forward it to our Support Team and confirm. Once we receive confirmation, the user will be set up and we will send the LA staff member who requested the user an email, letting them know.
You can check on the status of an admin request by clicking on the Add button via the Perspective Accounts School List. This will display whether the request is pending HT authorisation, has been processed or rejected.
If the headteacher rejects the request, we will also let you know. The headteacher may ignore or miss the request, in that case, please contact our Support Team or the head directly if you haven't heard anything. Our Support Team can't validate the request without the head's approval.
