Introduction
TAGs are created and administered through the Admin menu in Nexus, though only users with the appropriate permissions will see that option.
What is a TAG?
A TAG is a snippet of text that you would like to associate with one or more of your schools. This snippet of text could represent anything, from an award to a service level agreement to the status of the head teacher. You can set up TAGs tailored to your local authority, and you can have as many as you like.
Once a TAG is set up, authorised users can tick/untick that TAG through the Groups tab in the School section. It can also be applied during the Bulk Edit process.
It's important to note that the kinds of information that can be stored in a TAG may also be saved through other functionality, such as LA Category, LA Grade, or LA Target Grade. Information about school types or phases for which some LAs previously used a TAG or group is now a core part of Nexus, with improved filters in the school list. Local Authorities should consider the best combination of information items to meet their needs and offer flexibility for the future.
Managing TAGs
TAGs are really easy to create, edit, and delete. In setting one up for the first time, click Add a New Tag and type the wording you want to show. Remember that this is a yes/no tick box item, and your choice of words should reflect that.
Click Add once you've set the wording, and you're done. The TAG has been created and is immediately available for use. At this point, no schools will have that TAG applied.
If you find you need to amend the wording for a TAG, you can come back and edit the wording by clicking Edit alongside it. Editing the wording of the TAG will still ensure that schools that had the TAG ticked still have that tick.
If a TAG is no longer required, simply click Delete. This will remove the TAG from use. Any school that had that TAG ticked will no longer have it.
