Webinars & Training - 2025/26 Academic Year

This article covers the online training plans for the 25/26 academic year. Ahead of the session it will include booking links and as each session takes place it will be updated with the link to the video and materials (where available). 

All of the sessions below (apart from Angel Solutions sessions) will be recorded and made available as videos for the entire membership after the event. 

DfE Attendance - 30th September 2025 - 10:00 to 11:00

• Suggested delegates: Users and administrators supporting the new DfE Attendance functionality in Nexus
• This session will introduce the new features in Nexus which allows LA to access the DfE Attendance data collected from schools by the Department. It will cover importing the data (though we hope to have agreement from DfE for a central file to be provided), the importance of timeliness in loading data and accessing/using the reporting and analysis.

New to Nexus - 7th October 2025 - 10:00 to 10:45

• This short session will introduce new users to Nexus including system capabilities, key areas and navigation. It is ideal for new Nexus users but experienced users will not need to attend.

Recent and upcoming developments in Nexus - 25th November 2025 - 10:00 to 11:00

• After the success of the 2024 session, Development Director Edd Shackleton will again be taking us through the upcoming developments in Nexus. We'll also be looking at what has been implemented over the past 6 months. Ideal for Nexus admin who need to understand the new developments as well as other users with an interest

How Nexus supports primary accountability - 9th December 2025 - 10:00 to 11:00

• An update of a session from 2022, this is webinar intended for School Improvement professionals and analysts supporting them. It will also be useful for those involved in supporting schools with Perspective Lite which mirrors many of the capabilities

Highlighting the advantages of Perspective Lite to primary schools - 13th January 2026 - 10:00 to 11:00

• A new offering, based on work requested by a Local Authority to encourage their schools to make use of Perspective Lite. Take this content and make sure you're using it with your schools.

Nexus essentials for CLA and CIN - 10th February 2026 - 10:00 to 11:00

• Our most frequent request for 121 support, this is an update of a session from 2022, this session is for new users who need to understand the essentials of CLA and CIN capabilities in Nexus. Experienced users may not need to attend, but those who have not heard this material before will find it valuable.

SEN2 in Nexus - 17th March 2026 - 10:00 to 11:00

• Nexus' SEN2 import and analysis capability was introduced when the return shifted to the person-level in 2023. This is an update of a previous webinar addressing the changes made to the system. Intended for those involved in SEND analysis and Nexus users who need to support colleagues in this area

Preparing for Primary Assessment in 25/26 - 24th March 2026 - 10:00 to 11:00

• Suggested delegates: Nexus users involved in statutory assessment collections for schools in 25/26 academic year and those setting up the system to support that activity. Especially valuable for those who are new to (or returning to) the role
• Running for the fifth year, this popular session has attracted more than 150 delegates for each of the last three years. It will help you prepare Nexus (and Perspective Lite) for assessment season

Ask Me Anything - Follows Annual Members Meeting - May 2026

• Suggested delegates: Anyone who wants to stay and ask a question or listen to the responses to other delegates questions
• This short session will allow you to ask any questions about anything in Nexus including newly revealed developments or about NCER. It's been popular over the last two years with most AMM delegates opting to stay for the session.

• We will be consulting with NAVSH once again to ask for their priorities for support with Nexus and will add in one or two additional sessions focused on Virtual Schools once agreed.
