2023/2024 Data Availability in Nexus

The tables below contain up-to-date information on the expected and confirmed data release dates for NCER Nexus for the 2023-24 (2024) academic year data. 

There are delays to the release of 2024 NPD data from the DfE this year. NCER are aware of how critical this data is to local authorities and are progressing this with DfE as a matter of urgency. We will provide further updates was soon as they become available.

CLA & CIN Data Versions in Nexus

There are two ways CLA & CIN data is loaded into Nexus:

Local Authority Imported Data
LAs import their CLA & CIN census data into Nexus as soon as it is available, which is then matched to early attainment, pupil premium (for disadvantaged) and census data in Nexus from June onwards for primary data and October onwards for secondary (months ahead of DfE publications).

Please note: this data is provisional and may be subject to change at an early stage, so the data should be used with a degree of caution for LA operational and reporting purposes. View 'Keypas Import Indicators' on the homepage to see how many LAs have loaded their CLA & CIN census data into Nexus. NCER have 152 member LAs. 

DfE NPD Data loaded directly into Nexus
NCER is provided NPD data on behalf of all member LAs due to our NCER / DfE Data Sharing Agreement. CLA & CIN NPD data is loaded directly into Nexus for all member LAs in England. The DfE NPD and is matched to attainment, pupil premium (for disadvantaged) and census data already held in Nexus. 

Please note: there are different data versions of NPD attainment data in Nexus - provisional, revised and Final. Please view the Data Availability Table to see current data version available in Nexus. The first release of  CLA & CIN NPD data is expected in Nexus in January of each year, which is ahead of DfE statistical publications. There are strict limitations on use of this data, please ensure your LA reads and complies with NCER Terms and Conditions.
