This article covers the online training plans for the current academic year and will be updated each summer with the newly agreed webinar and training plans. Ahead of the session it will include booking links and as each session takes place it will be updated with the link to the video and materials (where available).
All of the sessions below (apart from Angel Solutions sessions) will be recorded and made available as videos for the entire membership after the event.
Recent and upcoming developments in Nexus - 27th November 2024 - 10:00 to 11:00 - DELIVERED

- This session will update on developments that have been implemented since the Annual Members Meeting and discuss upcoming developments through the rest of the year
Optional collections in Nexus 2025 - 4th December 2024 - 10:00 to 11:00

- Suggested delegates: Those involved in informing decision making on undertaking optional collections (MTC, KS1, KS4 results day and KS4 CLA collections)
- This session is intended to provide information on all these collections at an early stage to allow LA to make internal decisions and inform their schools of the options available.
- Please note that there is now a separate session which will include more detail on the KS4 Children Looked After Collection which may be more appropriate to VS colleagues rather than this wider (which will still cover it briefly)
NCER/NAVSH Webinar 1 - Making best use of Current CLA cohort functionality / KS4 summer CLA collections - 11th December 2024 - 10:00 to 11:00
Once again for 2024/25 academic year, NCER is pleased to be collaborating with NAVSH to deliver two webinars that have been identified as being use to Virtual School leaders and their teams.

- This session was requested by NAVSH and will provide an overview of 2 areas of functionality in Nexus for the Virtual School
- How and why to use the Current CLA cohort functionality to update your Children Looked After cohort after the submission of the SSDA903. This includes strategies on how you could make use of this functionality to best effect for your Virtual School
- Key Stage 4 summer CLA collections - what is collected, what you need from your schools, how it is loaded into the system and what that gives you in Nexus
Exploring Nexus Functionality - 12th February 2025 - 10:00 to 11:00

- Suggested delegates: Nexus users from LA who have more recently adopted the system or may not be exploiting it as fully due to not knowing what is available
- Nexus is a system with a long history and a wide range of capabilities but some of the functionality it provides may not be obvious to those who have not been working with it for that long. This session will help you exploit some of those additional capabilities that are under-utilised.
Preparing for Primary Assessment in 24/25 - 26th March 2025 - 10:00 to 11:00

- Suggested delegates: Nexus users involved in statutory assessment collections for schools in 24/25 academic year and those setting up the system to support that activity. Especially valuable for those who are new to (or returning to) the role
- Running for the fourth year, this popular session has attracted more than 150 delegates for each of the last three years. It will help you prepare Nexus (and Perspective Lite) for assessment season
Ask Me Anything - Follows Annual Members Meeting - May 2025

- Suggested delegates: Anyone who wants to stay and ask a question or listen to the responses to other delegates questions
- This short session will allow you to ask any questions about anything in Nexus including newly revealed developments or about NCER. It's been popular over the last two years with most AMM delegates opting to stay for the session.
NCER/NAVSH Webinar 2 - Using Nexus to help write your Virtual School Annual Report - Date TBC - 10:00 to 11:00
Once again for 2024/25 academic year, NCER is pleased to be collaborating with NAVSH to deliver two webinars that have been identified as being use to Virtual School leaders and their teams.

- Suggested delegates: Virtual School leadership and/or data teams supporting the VS annual report
- This session was requested by NAVSH and will be written in conjunction with an experienced Virtual School Leader. It will help those responsible for pulling together the Annual Report make best use of Nexus to support the writing of that document and to minimise the amount of work involved. Obviously your report will be different in format and structure to that in other LA, but we'll be working with a generic example.
- The date of this session is still being decided but is likely to be Spring 2025.
DfE Attendance Data in Nexus - Date TBA - 10:00 to 11:00

- Suggested delegates: LA attendance leads
- This session will provides information about the new Nexus development introducing the ability to load DfE Attendance data into Nexus. The development will move Nexus to being a much closer to live system (previously attendance data has been through census and a term in arrears)
- This session will be given a date once the functionality release date is finalised.
